Nursing Home Ministries
A Brief History
The nursing home ministry began in 2007 at the Whispering Pines nursing home. Jerry Matthews spent the last few weeks of his life being cared for by the wonderful folks at Whispering Pines. After Jerry was called home the administrator of the home asked Darlene to become the Chaplan. Darlene spoke every Wednesday morning for many years. God blessed Darlene’s obedience by bringing many souls to the Lord. Also, many residents had a new understanding of God’s word through her teaching. Since then, this ministry has expanded to Summer Meadows nursing home.
